Lovely grounds to explore

Most of our ranger-led organised activities will be centred around Wray Castle, located by the lake in our Hawkshead 'patch'; with car parking and toilet facilities it's the ideal place.

Helping to keep the family entertained

Our whole area is great for family fun outdoors but did you know that at Wray Castle we've got outdoors and indoors fun for the family.

Check out ways to have family-fun whatever the weather on the Wray Castle website.

Run Challenge at Claife/Harrowslack this summer

Running with a difference.

Running with a difference.

The National Trust in the Lakes is working together with British Orienteering to bring you a series of 45-minute mini-challenge events this summer. The events will take place every Thursday evening starting at 6.30pm at different National Trust locations, and Claife/Harrowslack is one of them. Join us here on 27 June and 15 August.

All participants start at the same time. Using a simple map with points drawn on, the aim is to locate as many of the markers as possible in 45 minutes. Go as fast at you like or take your time and enjoy the beautiful countryside, while giving your brain and legs a test.

Open to all ages and levels of experience. £2 donation to the National Trust at each event.
