Enjoying a walk on the estate

Enjoy one of our three way-marked routes on the estate, ranging from 30 minutes to about an hour. These walks are perfect for you and your canine companions to take in some breathtaking views of the Kent countryside, which is home to farm animals and lots of wildlife, including deer and rabbits.

Please help us keep their habitat peaceful and walk your dog on a lead.

Assistance dogs are welcome in the house and gardens, but unfortunately other dogs cannot come in with you. If you do bring your four-legged friend with you, please remember your entry ticket is valid for the day, leaving you free to enter and exit to check they're happy.

Your dog is also welcome to join you for your drinks or meal on the patio of the restaurant, where a drinking bowl is available.

Dreaming of walks in the countryside

Ightham Mote has been my home for many years. I was rescued, so coming to live here was a real treat.

I love walking on the estate as I get to meet lots of friends. It is a popular meeting place both morning and evening, so I get to socialise a lot. Although I am not as young as I used to be, when I can, I love to stretch my legs and go for a nice long walk, but there are also shorter walks I enjoy too.

Thirsty work

If you get thirsty we have dog bowls outside visitor reception and the lower gate.

You are also welcome to bring your well behaved owner onto the Mote Restaurant patio to join you for refreshments.
