Discover pargeting

Admire the decorative plaster work called pargeting in the upper chambers of the cottage. The ornamentation was created by stamping the patterns on to wet plaster.

The paintings on the screen were created around the time the house was built. They are remarkably well preserved, partly because they were covered in lathe and plaster around 1800.
