Activate Coast and Countryside Health Cycle Rides

Why not pop along to one of our weekly cycle rides run in partnership with Moors Valley Country Park.

These free, volunteer-led rides are a great chance to explore the local area and make new friends. Suitable for over 16s, it’s the perfect opportunity for you to get back on your bike if you haven’t cycled for a while.

Every Thursday 9.30-10.30am

  • Cost: free, refreshments extra
  • Bike hire: £4 booking essential, please phone: 01425 470721 (free with own bike)
  • Parking: free
  • Garden entry: free for your first three visits (with presentation of voucher)

Please note that booking is essential for the Kingston Lacy National Trust rides.

Kingston Lacy guided estate walks

Come and join us on our guided walks of the beautiful Kingston Lacy Estate. Explore over 8,500 acres and find out something about the history and wildlife of the estate.

From Bronze Age burial mounds to Medieval hunting lodges, an Iron Age hillfort, a Roman crossroads and an even greater variety of wildlife, wild flowers, orchids and ancient trees - these walks have something for everyone. All are offered at a gentle pace so you can take in the delights of the area. There is no charge, but donations are always welcome.

Kingston Lacy Estate

1-mile route

This run is half a mile along the famous Beech Avenue and back.

2-mile route

This run goes along the famous Beech Avenue, past the medieval Lodge Farm and climbs up to High Wood where there is a good view across to Kingston Lacy. Then past the ancient Iron Age hill fort and back down Heron Drove to the car park.

3-mile route

A fascinating run that takes you along part of the famous Beech Avenue, round Badbury Rings Iron Age hill fort, past High Wood and The Oaks with its ancient trees.
