We have four manual wheelchairs available to borrow during your visit, two in visitor reception and two in the house. A wheelchair-friendly buggy service is available to transport you from reception to the house.

We have dedicated picnic tables where you can enjoy the fresh air whilst tucking into a tasty snack. You are also welcome to picnic in the parkland and gardens.

Why not download and print off our German guides to the house or the gardens. You can also pick up a copy of these guides from visitor reception. A French guide to the house is also available to download.

Visiting Knightshayes
Group visits are very welcome here at Knightshayes, but we ask that you please book in advance.
House, garden and large print guides, parkland maps, raffle-tickets and of course, National Trust membership are available from reception.
To see all we have to offer, we recommend allowing at least three hours. Large groups may find it easier to stagger their visit by splitting into two groups, one to explore the garden while the other looks round the house to prevent over-crowding in the house. Unfortunately we have limited availability for group bookings over Bank Holidays.

Find out more on a guided tour
Discover the secrets of our Walled Garden with a guided tour from our garden team. Learn how we returned the garden to working order growing a wide range of organic produce. Cost £100 per group of 25 people. We also offer a free introductory talk for both the Walled and Ornamental Garden lasting 15 minutes.
A short introductory video can be viewed in the smoking room of the house providing a brief history of Knightshayes and its owners, the Heathcoat Amorys.

Eating at Knightshayes
We have plenty of room at our historic award-winning Stables Restaurant. Hot and cold lunches are served between 11.45am and 2.15pm. Cakes, puddings, home-made soups, sandwiches, hot and cold drinks are available from 11am to 5pm (subject to availability).
The daily menu includes a vegetarian option and we use fresh organic produce from the kitchen garden and local farmers. Unfortunately, it is not possible to reserve tables, but please give us a call if you have special requests, or any dietary requirements. The restaurant is available for private hire and catering on selected dates.
