Green Court spaces
Our largest courtyard tells the story of Knole in its own way – the walls themselves record the history of changes over centuries ... if you know how to read them. Pick up a copy of our guide, Speaking Stones, from the visitor centre or shop and make your own discoveries.
Created in the early 19th century, the orangery hosts permanent displays of remarkable statues as well as a changing range of exhibitions throughout the year. Right next to the visitor centre, come and enjoy a stroll amongst our lemon trees.
We've seen visitors moved to tears as they recall their own or loved ones' working lives on various parts of the Knole estate. Share their stories in our oral history exhibition with its audio excerpts and interactive exhibits.
Park experience room
Just inside the main entrance to the house, come and explore this interactive space with its family-friendly park activities. We'd love to hear from you about your own park discoveries.
Come and look for our Family Monday activity areas set up outside the main entrance to Green Court, throughout our open season, starting with the Easter holidays. Our experienced park walk leaders will also be on hand to lead strolls suitable for children, all free of charge.
