Our largest courtyard tells the story of Knole in its own way – the walls themselves record the history of changes over centuries ... if you know how to read them.  Pick up a copy of our guide, Speaking Stones, from the visitor centre or shop and make your own discoveries.

For an overview of the long and intricate history of Knole, start with our fabulous and funny introductory video. Enjoy the 3D model of Knole and other interactive activities. Free to visit, and open 10:30am to 5pm.

The orangery at Knole in Kent is home to classical statues and lemon trees

Created in the early 19th century, the orangery hosts permanent displays of remarkable statues as well as a changing range of exhibitions throughout the year. Right next to the visitor centre, come and enjoy a stroll amongst our lemon trees.

Family Mondays

Come and look for our Family Monday activity areas set up outside the main entrance to Green Court, throughout our open season, starting with the Easter holidays. Our experienced park walk leaders will also be on hand to lead strolls suitable for children, all free of charge.
