Volunteer with us

We are always looking for new volunteers to join us at Lindisfarne.

If you are interested in coming along to help out in this unique place then drop us an email or just call in.

Working holidays

We rely heavily on our volunteers and couldn't open without them

We welcome 16 pairs of working holiday volunteers every year. Working closely with the staff and regular volunteers, they have the advantage of being island based - so no worrying about tides.

Volunteers at the Castle

Our volunteer room guides are vital to the opening of the Castle

We are always looking for volunteers to help out when the Castle is open. You really do get to know the place and help visitors to enjoy and understand the Castle story. Please email us if you are interested.

More opportunities

Volunteering at Lindisfarne is not limited to Room Stewarding

We are developing more volunteer roles at Lindisfarne. In the near future these should include roles in visitor services, collections, and walking tours with more potential in the pipeline. Email us for more information.

Volunteers, whether individuals or organised groups, help us on the Coast © National Trust

Volunteers, whether individuals or organised groups, help us on the Coast

Volunteering on the Northumberland Coast

Lindisfarne Castle is only one part of a larger group of properties comprising all of the Northumberland Coast holdings, including Low Newton and Druridge Bay. Volunteers do lots of good work helping our Rangers maintain the coastal properties so if you are interested in becoming one, please call 01289 389244 or email us.
