Warm yourself with a bowl of tasty stew

Warm yourself with a bowl of tasty stew

Longshaw is famous for its tasty scones, freshly baked on the premises and arguably the best for miles around. We use produce from the kitchen garden in our soups, salads, stews and other tasty delights such as chocolate and beetroot cake and courgette and goat's cheese flan. A different dish is highlighted each month and you can pick up a recipe card to collect and try out at home.

Kitchen garden

The gardens are run entirely by dedicated volunteers and we use the produce in many of the recipes served in our tea-room. We hold regular open days with tours and lots of activities for children

Follow the ants

Come and try out this fun trail and have a go at counting the ants and identifying nests - you may even discover this chap on your way round. Trail maps can be bought for £1 at the Longshaw shop.

Free hot drink

Have a hot drink at our cafe

Ask our café staff for a hot drinks' loyalty card and collect stamps at all National Trust cafés when you buy a cup of coffee or tea. Collect nine stamps and get your tenth cuppa on the house.

Hire a GPS unit

We have a beginners' geocache trail available at Longshaw and GPS hire is now available from the shop (security deposit required). Booking is recommended on 01433 637904.
