Benefactors

Supporters who give £1000 or more in a 12 month period are invited to become Benefactors.

The honorary title of Benefactor of the National Trust reflects the special contribution that many individuals make to our work through regular donations.

Why become a Benefactor?
Our Benefactors enjoy invitations to special events with our history, gardens and countryside experts providing a rare insight into well-known and not-so-well known properties around the country.

Benefactors are invited to Heelis, the home of the Trust once a year to meet staff and volunteers and to hear about the work currently taking place.

Benefactors also receive a biannual newsletter which contains updates on some of the many projects that benefit from their donations. There are also views and stories from the experts that bring our work to life.

How your gift will be used

For over 100 years we have relied on charitable donations to acquire and protect areas of natural beauty and buildings of historic importance. The responsibility of saving and caring for so many special places is a formidable task. The reality is that it costs an enormous amount of money to maintain the properties in our care, whilst continuing to invest in the future.

We receive no direct government funding, and rely on membership fees, gifts, property revenues and our wonderful army of volunteers to continue with our work.
