Learning activities at Hatfield Forest are divided into those for Primary, Secondary, Higher and Adult Education.

At the primary level, science themes covered include:

  • Humans and other animals,
  • Living things & their environment,
  • Life processes,
  • Green plants, variation & classification.

Other topics include Compass and Map activities for Geography, plus a range of Art and Design projects.

For the secondary level, talks from wardens and the Property Manager are available covering:

  • Hatfield Forest history
  • biodiversity
  • details of tree biology and management (including coppicing and pollarding trees)
  • meeting the National Trust aims of conservation and access for all

Tailor made programmes can also be arranged for particular topics.

For students at the higher education level, we have a list of potential research projects available.

Teaching starts at 10.00am and finishes at approx. 2.30pm, depending on your transport arrangements.
