From archaeology to zoology, there are countless ways in which you can get involved as a volunteers with the National Trust.
Whether you are interested in meeting new people, getting some exercise or developing a new skill, there is a volunteer opportunity for you in this region.
Many of the people you meet at National Trust properties are volunteers working as room stewards, gardeners, forest wardens and guides.
However you may not heard of some of the more unusual roles fulfilled by volunteers, which include shepherding, botany and ghost-hunting!
Volunteering for the National Trust offers the opportunity to use existing skills and to develop new ones. If you are interested in gaining skills for career development, volunteering for the National Trust can also help.
Many National Trust staff started out as volunteers. If you are able to volunteer on a full-time basis, our full-time volunteering programme may be for you.
Volunteers with the National Trust can claim travel expenses and many properties and sites in this region are accessible by public transport if you do not have a car.
Please contact the Regional Office on 01494 755500 and ask to speak to someone about volunteering, or email us.
