Hardwick Hall, is a spectacular Elizabethan house that was built by ‘Bess of Hardwick’, Countess of Shrewsbury between 1590 and 1597. The Hall is home to Europe’s finest collection of 16th and 17th-century embroideries and tapestries.

It stands in 500 acres of parkland, woodland and fine gardens. Hardwick Hall has a dramatic location, set on a hilltop on the Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire border.
The Entrance Hall at Hardwick Hall is licensed for civil wedding ceremonies. Photographs can be taken in the Entrance Hall, gardens and parkland.

When can civil wedding ceremonies be held at Hardwick?
Ceremonies take place on Fridays between April and October, and on Saturdays and Sundays at selected times.
Receptions
The West Colonnade is available for drinks receptions. The Great Kitchen Restaurant is available for full-catered receptions. For larger receptions the ‘Wine Glass’ is available for marquee hire.
