Past and Present is a groundbreaking project that will transform the experience of visitors to Ickworth House.
Real Lives will tell the true story of everyday 'upstairs/downstairs' domestic life at Ickworth.
The project will enable us to open and newly present the kitchens and domestic areas of the basement in the Rotunda, showing them as they would have been in their heyday (from 1910 onwards). Then with your help we will capture the memories of former servants, ensuring these unique glimpses into our past are saved for the future, educating the next generation about life in the early 1900s on a working country estate.
We aim to open the basement of the Rotunda by spring 2011, we hope you can help us make this happen.
