What's new this year
Discover what it takes to look after one of the Trust's busiest estates during our behind the scenes weekend 'Stourhead Uncovered'. See our fascinating film Servants. Opportunity to observe conservation in action while the Temple of Apollo is undergoing restoration
Right now we are working on Stourhead's part of the national plant database being created by the Trust. If you have a question about the plants and trees at Stourhead, or about the national project in general, ask Emily at www.trustgardening.wordpress.com. From the 6th July, essential conservation work will be starting on the Temple of Apollo. Scaffolding will cover the Temple from 6th July until March 2010. We intend to keep access to the outside of the Temple open as much as possible. We apologise for any inconvenience caused while the building work is taking place. Log onto our blog at stourheadnt.wordpress.com to read the background stories and catch up on the latest news. As a result of feedback from visitor surveys we have now managed to secure funding to refurbish and redecorate our WCs. We hope that these works will commence on Monday 13th July 2009. Alternative facilities will be available during the refurbishment. Please see information at the property or a member of the team for further details. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your patience and cooperation during this time
