There is no better way of appreciating the immense variety of places cared for by the National Trust than by exploring on foot.
The Trust welcomes the new rights of access on foot for open-air recreation on registered commons and open country and is a major provider of this land.
The Trust also welcomes freedom to roam over unenclosed land and woods. The extent of these access opportunities can best be found on Ordnance Survey Explorer maps. Long-distance routes, including 13 designated as National Trails, link many Trust properties.
For further information, contact the Countryside Agency on 0870 120 6466 or visit the National Trails website.
