Most cars trains and aeroplanes use fossil fuels to power them and so release carbon dioxide, a greenhouse gas that contributes to climate change. In fact, air travel is the world’s fastest-growing source of greenhouse gas emissions. For example one 4,428-mile flight from London to Miami emits the equivalent per passenger of 12,000 miles of car travel.
