Sometimes the most interesting wildlife can be found in the most unexpected of places. Hidden away from the gaze of passers-by.
Here are just some of the places where you can spot hidden nature:

Amid the vast 18th-century parkland of the Kedleston estate, lies Kedleston Hall. The Hall is a local hotspot for bats, who roost in the far recesses of the hall. Eagle-eyed visitors might also spot them nestling in the ancient trees on the estate.

This little-known dark and tranquil pool is associated with Anglo Saxon Saint Ninian who baptised hundreds in its holy waters. Situated seven miles from Rothbury, this is a secret waiting to be discovered.

Magnificent views are not the only thing that you will be rewarded with when climbing this steep conical hill. The natural beauty of the area interspersed with traces of Iron Age ramparts which rise high above the Northumberland Moors make the journey well worth the effort!
