The National Trust offers three types of vocational training:
GNVQ
site visits, talks and information
Many Trust properties offer talks, visits or information for students studying vocational
subjects such as Marketing, Leisure/Travel, and Tourism and Business. Contact the National Trust learning
team on 01793 817400 for details of your local learning opportunities.
Volunteering
Volunteering is a great way to gain work experience and develop skills. A wide range
of schemes have been designed to support training, such as the long-term volunteering scheme. You can
find out more about volunteering at the Trust on the volunteering pages.
Careerships
How do you learn how to be a gardener or countryside warden? Mostly by actually
doing the work. The National Trust's training scheme for gardeners and countryside wardens, Careerships,
can help you do this. You can find out more about Careerships on this website.
