Hi Trusty,
I think you're really cool and I think it's is really important that
hedgehogs don't become extict - so I wrote you a song. Here it goes:

Trusty - You smell of fox's poo
Trusty - I love you
Trusty - He's the greatest hedgehog
Trusty - He lives under a log
Trusty, Trusty, Trusty, Trusty, Trusty, Trusty
He the greatest hedgehog in the world!!!

From your biggest fans
Lauren and Nick

Human’s Fault

Majestic is the oak tree,
towering in the garden.
Helpless is the acorn,
falling to the ground.
Graceful is the falling leaf
floating in the air.
Gentle is the blowing breeze
wavering the grass.
Peaceful is the silence
of nature left alone.
Soft is the sound of trickling water,
lapping against the tree roots.
Sweet is the sound of birds
singing merrily.
Innocent the garden that withholds these beautiful things.

Roaring is the bulldozer,
pulling up the trees.
Shattered is the silence
by the shouting of humans.
Smoky is the air
from the tractor turning earth.
Gone are the animals,
helpless and homeless.
Withered are the plants,
each with damaged roots.
Oily is the water
from machinery and trucks.
Polluted is the atmosphere,
eternal damage done.
Dying is the garden, destroyed by mankind

Alexandra's poem really made Trusty think.

Trusty the hedgehog
Loves to have fun
He has lots of friends
That play in the sun

When Trusty was younger
He had fluffy hair
But it turned into spikes
It makes some people stare

Trusty likes to dance
And sing some songs as well
He likes to help gardeners
He’ll go to heaven, not hell

If you want to help trusty
And all of his friends
Leave out some cat food
And help make amends

Hi Trusty,
Found the poem. Hope you like it!

Poem for Spike

He trundles silently on well-oiled wheels,
weaving this way, that way, as fancy takes
him in erratic bursts of bustling bristles;
slow slow quick quick stop. He searches
moon silvered, midnight grass pausing;
for a few seconds his snout
sniffs the earth, where yesterday
a kindred spirit found final rest.
He pays his last respects.

Slowly, with a shattering crackle of silver spines,
the hedgehog shuffles into the shadows
of night times' passing...

Anita

Dear Trusty, I wrote this short story after i had visited Dunham Massey with my nan and grandad, where i helped to make bread and biscuits with the cook, i hope that you like it.

THE MAIDS DIARY OF DUNHAM MASSEY

By Megan

Monday: It's nearly Christmas and all of us maids are running around like mad, with all the cooking, cleaning and sewing dreses for Lady Stamford, and suits for Lord Stamford. We might as well live in the kitchen, because we've all been cooking so much for Lord and Lady Stamfords feasts in the great dining hall. There wasn't much leftovers for all of us maids and servants, so I went to bed with a rumbling tummy.

Tuesday: It's no different from yesterday today because we're still running around like mad. When I had finished all my duties I went to pay a little visit to the Laundry maid. I walked over to the Ironing table and picked up one of the Irons, it was super heavy so I put it back down, the Laundry maid gave me one that was a bit lighter, and as I spun around to take it off her, my dress got caught on a nail and ripped.I had to sew it.

Wednesday: Yipee! it's my break day today. I am going to go and do some emergency shopping, and then I am going to go home and see my family. I'll have to make myself a new dress, because yesterday Lady Stamford saw my dress after I had sewn it up. She thought that it looked absolutely awfull. She told me that I must get to work at once and make myself a new dress.Lord Stamford saw it at dinner, and he shouted at me, and I ended up pouring wine all over him i was that nervous, he wasnt impressed.

Thursday: Yesterday when I told my family how I ripped my dress, they laughed and said "you don't want to get on the wrong side of Lord Stamford". I thought they were all right, because I knew that I shouldn't get on the wrong side of him after last night. I went to talk to the Ladys maid and she said that she would help me make my new dress. So while the Lady's maid made my dress I went to help to cook the dinner, polish all of the shoes and set the table.

Friday: Today is the busiest day of my life because it's Christmas eve. Me and three other maids put the christmas tree up,and put the decorations on,and the Lady's maid put the angel on the top. We all had to make millions of biscuits, bread and cakes, because all the children wanted to leave some food at the end of their beds for Santa Claus to eat. I had to put all the stockings up,because the children started moaning that they wanted their presents.

Megan in her maid's costumeSaturday: It's Christmas day,and I've been told to wake the children up bright and early. They didn't want any breakfast, but I insisted that they had some. Afterwards we all went downstairs to see if Santa Claus had eaten all of his treats, but he only ate half of them, so I let the children eat the leftovers. Later on while the family had one of their big feasts all of us maids had our own little party, and we all went to bed exhausted, at midnight.

THE END

p.s this is a picture of me in my maids costume which my Nan made for me.

Dear Trusty,

Are you well? I have been to Rievaulx Terrace today. I did a treasure hunt/trail and looked for all the clues. The clues were like this; for honeysuckle there was a picture of a jar of honey and the word suckle; for snowdrop there was a picture of snow and the word drop; for foxglove there was a picture of fox and picture of a glove. At the end we went back to reception and I got a balloon - that was the treasure. Guess what, the balloon had your picture on it.
Love Emily
