Small groups of arms and armour remain in many of the late medieval and 17th century houses cared for by the National Trust.
At Cotehele and St Michael’s Mount in Cornwall, Hardwick Hall in Derbyshire and Oxburgh Hall in Norfolk arms and armour form an important element in antiquarian displays.
There are important collections of European armour at Anglesey Abbey in Cambridgeshire and Waddesdon Manor in Buckinghamshire.
Collections of oriental arms and armour are held at Snowshill Manor in Gloucestershire, Powis Castle in Wales and Kedleston Hall in Derbyshire.
