Penrhyn Castle provides the perfect surroundings and atmosphere for your special function, whether you need to impress clients, motivate your staff at a conference or training day, or celebrate a special occasion.
This enormous neo-Norman fantasy castle overlooks the Menai Strait with stunning views of Snowdonia. Built by Thomas Hopper between 1820 and 1845 for the Pennant family, who made their fortune from Jamaican sugar and Welsh slate, the castle is crammed with fascinating things and an outstanding collection of paintings.

Hopper also designed the castle’s interior with elaborate carvings, plasterwork and mock-Norman furniture. The Victorian kitchen and servants’ quarters reveal the preparations for the banquet for the Prince of Wales’s visit in 1894.
The stableblock houses an industrial railway museum, model railway museum and a superb dolls’ museum. The 60 acres of grounds include parkland, an extensive exotic tree and shrub collection and a Victorian walled garden.
