Today, the National Trust can announce that Antony, nr Torpoint in Cornwall has been chosen as a filming location for Disney’s new film 'Alice in Wonderland.'
The house, garden and the Woodland Garden which is run by the Carew Pole Garden Trust, will be closing to the public from Monday 1 September until Tuesday 14 October. Filming will take place for two weeks in September, but the closure will last for six weeks to allow for any necessary work to take place before and after the filming. The film will be directed by Tim Burton, but the cast has yet to be confirmed.
Rebecca Miller, National Trust House and Visitor Services Manager for Antony says:
'We are absolutely over the moon that Antony has been chosen as a location for Tim Burton’s new film 'Alice in Wonderland'. One of the reasons it was chosen was because it’s a hidden gem - it’s one of the Trust’s lesser known properties and they felt this fitted in very well with the feel of the film.'
