The Leicester Association was founded in 1966 and currently has around 260 members in Leicestershire.
Our objectives are to promote the National Trust locally, to raise money for Trust projects, and to arrange a programme of talks, outings and social activities to make National Trust membership more enjoyable.
The National Trust has few properties in Leicestershire, but we support the Trust’s properties in the East Midlands Region. During recent years the Association has raised and donated funds to a range of projects at properties including Calke Abbey, Canons Ashby, Belton House, Kedleston Hall, Lyveden New Bield, Sudbury Hall and in the Peak District. The Association has made donations to the Neptune Coastline Campaign over many years.
The Leicester Association is an independent group of National Trust members and volunteers. The Association is affiliated to the National Trust and governed by a constitution common to all National Trust Associations. Our affairs are conducted by a committee of officers and members who are elected at our annual general meeting held in April each year.
