About the group
Mansfield Centre offer their members a series of summer day visits and Brodsworth Hall, Powis Castle, Beningbrough Hall and Newstead Abbey have appeared in their programme. As well as short breaks for their members, they also include fundraising events such as lunches and carol concerts.
In addition they meet on the first Tuesday evening of every month from September to May at Mansfield Library Theatre to enjoy a series of talks on a variety of heritage subjects - ranging from Pestilences, Intrigues and Murder to Queen Victoria, Guy Fawkes and Kedleston Hall.
Some of their members provide volunteer support, for example as stewards or helping with events and the group have funded projects at Clumber Park, Hardwick Hall, Southwell Workhouse, Sudbury Hall, and Longshaw Estate.
Included in the programme are many opportunities for members to socialise and make new friends and you would be very welcome at any of their meetings.
