About the group
South Derbyshire Members' Centre was founded in 1973 and currently has 300 members. Membership is drawn from Derby, the southern half of Derbyshire and parts of Staffordshire around Burton-on-Trent.
Our aim is to promote the work of the National Trust and to provide social activities to make membership of the Trust all the more enjoyable.
Amongst the National Trust properties we support are Kedleston Hall, Calke Abbey and Sudbury. For many years we have donated around £3,000 a year to specific projects at these local properties and to national appeals and projects.
The Centre is independent of the National Trust and operates under its own Constitution. The affairs are managed by a group of officers and other committee members who are elected at the AGM held in December.
