These trails will take you on a guided walk to the summit of Mam Tor. You will be transported back several thousand years, to when the hillfort was home to a Bronze Age tribe.
The trails will help you interpret the rich, cultural heritage of this historic landscape, recounting the events of a day on the hillfort from the perspectives of the people who lived there several thousand years ago.

Who are they for:
There are two trails, one for adults and one for children. They are designed either to work on their own or to complement each other, so families can discuss what they hear as they walk, and discover the history together.
The adults’ trail is a combination of narration and scripted dialogue, while the children’s trail is completely character-based dialogue.
Ideally you will have an MP3 player and a set of headphones per person.

Directions:
The trails consist of five stops, starting in the National Trust Mam Tor car park at Mam Nick.
- Stops one to six guide you up the main path leading to the summit of the hill.
- You can then listen to the seventh and final section of the trail either on your way back down the hill or as you carry on your walk along the ridge.
There are directions for where to stop and listen to each section on the audio trail itself, beginning with Stop 1 in the car park.

The audio trails were developed by the National Trust in conjunction with Peak Experience and Simon Corble.
