About the group
Southend & District Centre was founded in 1959 and currently has more than 300 members in the area of Southend and outlying Essex towns and villages. Everyone is welcome to join us.
Our objectives are to promote the National Trust locally, raise funds in its support and arrange a programme of events and activities to enrich members’ understanding of its work. Among the National Trust properties we support are Rayleigh Mill and Mount, and a wide spectrum of properties including the Neptune Coast Project.
Southend & District Centre is independent of the National Trust and governed by a constitution common to all the charity’s centres and associations. Our affairs are conducted by a committee of officers and members who are elected at our annual general meeting held in March each year.
