Interested in making the most of the National Trust near you? Join your local group to enjoy special interest talks, visits, holidays and other social and fundraising events.
You'll also be helping a great cause - local groups support the work of the charity and raise hundreds of thousands of pounds every year for our conservation and access projects around the country.
About the group
The Colchester and North-East Essex Centre was founded in 1979. We have more than 400 members drawn from Colchester and the surrounding areas – from Walton on the Naze in the East, Coggeshall in the West and Sudbury to the North.
The Centre exists:
- to promote the work of the National Trust.
- to enable members to derive more pleasure from their membership of the National Trust, and to enrich their understanding of its work and other aspects of our heritage.
- to raise funds in support of National Trust projects.
Members enjoy a varied programme of talks, outings, lunches and other social events, and short holiday breaks. These are advertised in the Centre's Newsletter and on our website.
We support our local properties - Bourne Mill in Colchester, Grange Barn and Paycocke’s in Coggeshall - and we make annual donations to other properties, usually in the East of England.
