Thinking about volunteering and want to be part of a group? Our volunteer groups help our staff with hands-on involvement, organising conservation days and weekend events. Activities range from footpath and step construction to planting and coppicing.
Who are we?
In Suffolk we have a wide range of different sites including:- world famous Sutton Hoo (the burial place of Saxon kings), Pin Mill (Heath land), Flatford (Constable Country), and Orford Ness (WW2 and Cold war experimental site).
We typically go out on task every other Sunday to local sites, with the occasional weekends away. Task activities include coppicing, footpath building, fencing, tree felling, tree planting, painting and decorating. On all tasks we have plenty of tea breaks, and usually lunch sitting around a bonfire. The aim of a task is to enjoy ourselves while getting the job done.
We also have pub socials and the occasional party. Come along to our tasks and see if you enjoy them. For contact details and a list of upcoming events visit the group’s web site.
