We celebrate food at The National Trust, with the aim of inspiring our supporters to eat local, sustainable and seasonal food at our properties and at home.
Our catering teams are behind the campaign for locally sourced, seasonal food. From the award-winning Dunwich tea-rooms on the Suffolk coast, to the elegant Carriage House Restaurant of Felbrigg Hall in north Norfolk; at every National Trust catering outlet across the East of England you'll find a welcoming spot to stop for anything from a cup of tea to a three-course meal knowing that the food is fresh, seasonal and local.
Food news from the East of England
Food Glorious Food campaign
This year sees the launch of our ‘Food Glorious Food’ campaign, which aims to inspire children to eat local and seasonal food and to make green living part of their everyday life.
Appetite for change
The National Trust has launched a report outlining its food policy, to champion local, seasonal food. We rely on high quality local producers to keep menus and food fresh and inviting at our restaurants and tea-rooms across the region.
Our producers
Key to offering fresh, seasonal and local food is our relationships with local producers, many of whom have been supplying our restaurants and tea-rooms for upwards of twenty years.
Winter warmers
National Trust members in the East of England shared their favourite soup recipes, in the hope of winning a day with one of our chefs. The soup had to be vegetarian and gluten free. The winning recipe, for Suffolk Cauliflower Cheese Soup, is the perfect embodiment of what we believe in - local, seasonal food!
