Visitors to Hatfield Forest can now take home a souvenir from the new National Trust shop, which opened last week.
Stock ranging from wildlife books and nature guides to pocket money treats for children and plenty of fudge is now available to buy at Hatfield Forest. All profits go directly to help conservation of the medieval royal hunting forest, so your purchases are for a good cause. The shop is located behind the Shell House in the Lake area of Hatfield Forest.
Ade Clarke, Property Manager at Hatfield Forest, said:
'I’m delighted that we have opened the shop, not least because we now have a contact point for our visitors. You know that you can always find a member of staff here at the shop, from 10am to 4.30pm. Diane Aitken is our new Retail Manager, who, along with four members of staff and a volunteer, will be developing the range of products through the season.'
Talking about her new role, Diane said: 'My first challenge is to work with local businesses to supply products such as honey and items made from wood from the Forest. We really want our customers’ feedback to make sure we stock the things you want to buy, so please don’t be shy in letting us know what you think.'
A second-hand book sale will add a boost to summer’s trading, taking place from 26 July to 3 August, 11am to 4pm at the shop. Come along and grab a bargain - all proceeds go directly to conservation of Hatfield Forest.
