This beautiful area is located in a very remote and completely unspoilt valley located in the western part of the Lake District National Park. By car, it can only be reached by a narrow single track road. Visiting mid-week or out of season may help to avoid traffic congestion.
If you fancy a challenging hike over Britain’s highest mountains – you can camp at the Great Langdale National Trust campsite and enjoy a full day serious trek to Wasdale, stay a night at Wasdale Campsite before returning the next day.
