Bolton Association was founded in 1986 and currently has 300 members in Bolton, Bury and surrounding areas of Greater Manchester.
Our objectives are to promote the National Trust locally, raise funds in its support and enable members to derive more enjoyment from their membership.
National Trust properties we support include Lyme Park, Dunham Massey and those in the Lake District. For example, we recently raised a large sum for the major repairs to the roof of Lyme Hall, while smaller sums went on such diverse projects as a wooden bench for Speke Hall, grebe nesting platforms for Wastwater and a digital camera for Borrowdale.
Bolton Association is independent of the National Trust and governed by a constitution common to all the charity’s centres and associations. Our affairs are conducted by a committee of officers who are elected at our AGM held in April.
