Chester Centre members meet in a local hall for illustrated talks on Historical, Heritage, Cultural topics and Wildlife and Conservation issues.
The annual programme has six or seven talks, some with buffet luncheons, occupying the winter months.
There are two, very popular, especially arranged holidays which are well patronised. We also organise a number of coach outings to National Trust Properties, other Historic Houses and Gardens - many of these are not open to the general public. We also organise a few car outings to interesting local places.
Just to be friendly, there is a summertime evening supper, a Christmas luncheon and a New Year luncheon. These are opportunities to talk to friends made during the year and are very popular.
One way in which we help the National Trust is by raising money. By virtue of all these social activities and the occasional bequest, the Chester Centre usually has about £7000 a year to disburse. Sometimes more!
