About the group
The Frodsham & District Association was founded in 1989, with the objectives of organising social activities, to help promote and support the work of the National Trust and increase Members’ enjoyment of the Trust. It is independent of the Trust, but governed by a constitution common to all that charity’s associations.
A membership of 200 from the Frodsham, Helsby, Northwich, Runcorn, Winsford and Warrington area, elect a committee of officers, at an AGM each March, to organise a programme of talks, outings and an annual holiday. Highlights in 2008 included the holiday to the Bristol area with a visit to Tyntesfield, outings to Chirk Castle and Lyme Park and an enthralling talk on the Liverpool Overhead Railway.
Funds raised are donated to specific projects at nearby Trust properties; Dunham Massey, Erddig, Formby, Hardman's Studio, Lyme Park and Speke Hall have all received grants in the last five years.
