Most visits take place in the summer months to mansion houses and gardens but we also visit historic towns such as Bath and Brighton ‘out of season’. Visits are by luxury coach which pick-up in Wallingford, Didcot and Abingdon.
Our holidays are probably the best way of making friends - relaxing over a fine meal in a high-class hotel after a good day out. Despite the high quality of both transport and accommodation, the holidays are not expensive and in recent years we have been to Falmouth, Canterbury, Brussels and York.
Our talks take place in the Abingdon Guild Hall, in afternoons, in most months through the winter. They enable us to keep in touch with one another and entertain, stimulate – even educate us, while the National Trust’s properties are closed.
The hotel where our Christmas and summer lunches are held is in a tranquil setting by the Thames.
