The London Centre of the National Trust was founded in 1951 (second only to Manchester) and currently has 170 members, mainly from the London area.
Our objectives are to promote and prosper the work of the National Trust both nationally and in the Thames and Solent area.
Over the years we have had a particularly close involvement with Fenton House in Hampstead and Sutton House in Hackney. Centre members regularly volunteer at the National Trust Offices in Queen Anne’s Gate, London, as well as at Fenton House where we have recently funded a new acquisition – bees in a hive in the orchard. For Sutton House we have provided funding for Victorian costumes for children and also contributed to the coach grant scheme which enables children from local schools to visit this and other properties.
