We raise funds for the National Trust supporting specific appeals and have recently supported projects at Ashridge, Carlyle’s House, Claydon House, Ham House, Hughenden and Stowe Gardens. We also assisted Waddesdon to purchase a buggy for transporting visitors between the car park and house.
This fundraising is achieved through our programme which includes outings by coach and public transport to such diverse places as Bletchley Park, Denbies Wine Estate, Watermen and Lightermen Hall, and various National Trust Properties.
We also have social events in our programme such as quizzes, Christmas lunches and concert and theatre trips. Our evening meetings from September to May, together with afternoon meetings in the winter months, are friendly, social occasions.
They usually consist of an illustrated talk about National Trust houses, gardens and countryside, or other interesting topics such as antiques, art and architecture, together with refreshments. Our own sales table with a wide variety of National Trust and other goods is open for these meetings.
