About the group
Banbury & District National Trust Association was founded in 1979. It currently has about 260 members who come from Banbury and the surrounding villages, an area popularly known as Banburyshire. To join you must be a member of the National Trust or an affiliated organisation such as the National Trust for Scotland or a National Trust Volunteer.
Our objectives are to promote the National Trust locally, to raise funds in its support, and to arrange a programme of events and activities to enrich members’ understanding of its work.
Our monthly meetings include talks on a range of heritage subjects. In summer we arrange day trips, short-break holidays and occasional social and fund-raising events. All these activities provide the opportunity for members to socialise with like-minded people.
Many of our members provide volunteer support for the National Trust by working as guides and stewards at Upton House and other local properties.
