From September to March the Banbury Association meets on the fourth Thursday of every month (except December) at Banbury Old People’s Club in Castle Street in Banbury. Meetings include talks on a range of heritage subjects and allow members to socialise with like-minded people. The 2007 programme includes talks on the river Wye and the Avoncroft Museum.
In summer we arrange day visits and short-break holidays to places of interest. In 2007 we are visiting National Trust properties including Hardwick Hall and The Vyne, and we have enjoyed a four day holiday based on Canterbury which included visits to the Claremont Landscape Gardens and Ightham Mote as well as a ride on the Romney Hyde and Dymchurch Railway.
We also hold the occasional social and fundraising events throughout the year.
Many of our members also provide volunteer support for the National Trust by working as stewards at properties and helping with events.
