In the winter Oxford Centre members meet one morning a month at the St Aldate’s Parish Centre, Pembroke Street for coffee and lectures. Our talks programme generally follows a theme throughout the year for example in the 2006-7 season the talks are on Oxford institutions.
We have outings throughout the year, usually one a month in the winter and on average two a month in the summer; these are to historic towns, houses (not necessarily National Trust), gardens and the theatre. We arrange holidays in this country and abroad and our social events include lunches and a coffee morning to raise funds.
Some of our members also give voluntary support to the National Trust, for example working as stewards at properties and helping with events.
