We are launching a major three year project to transform your visit to Stowe Landscape Gardens and we would like your views to help shape its future.
At the heart of the £8.4 million project will be the restoration of a derelict coaching inn and farmhouse to provide first-class new facilities for visitors, including a new restaurant, shop, toilets and car-park.

New Inn, as it is still known today, was built in 1717 to offer rest and refreshment to the 18th-century visitors who came to marvel at the scale and splendour of the famous gardens.
When the project is completed in 2011, the new Visitor Centre will provide visitors with an exciting new gateway to Stowe, recreating the experience of Stowe’s first tourists and offering the glorious views enjoyed by visitors nearly 300 years ago.
The National Trust will be carrying out a wide-ranging programme of public consultation to explore new ways in which Stowe could be used and enjoyed in the future.
'We are asking National Trust members and our local communities what Stowe means to them and what we can do to revitalise this iconic piece of the country’s heritage,' says Property Manager, David Brooks.
