About the group
Abertawe Centre (Swansea) was founded in 1973 and currently has a membership of about 300 in the local area. Members are from Swansea, Neath, Gower and surrounding districts.
Membership is open to all National Trust Members.
Meetings are held at St Paul's Sketty Parish Centre on the fourth Wednesday of the month (Oct - Apr) commencing at 7.30 p.m.
Day excursions and holidays are arranged during the summer. Luncheon meetings are held in the spring and before Christmas.
Our objectives are to promote the charitable purposes of the National Trust and to make membership more enjoyable, effective and relevant to local members.
Among the National Trust properties we support are Dinefwr Park and Castle, Aberdulais Falls, and Rhossili Visitor Centre. Members provide volunteer help at Pennard (Southgate) car park (which gives access to Three Cliffs Bay) and as stewards at Dinefwr Castle.
