That amounts to 110 dozen Welsh Freedom Food eggs per week used by our Wales catering units in Plas Newydd, Chirk Castle, Erddig, Powis Castle, Penrhyn Castle and Bodnant Gardens!
Here are a few more quirky food facts that you didnt know...
- 42,389 bowls of soup were served last year, mainly using seasonal vegetables and local bakers bread and rolls
- 36,798 sandwiches sold using local bread, local cheeses, home produced ham and Welsh Welsh Freedom Food eggs
- We sold 140,902 pieces of cake and scones (excluding cream teas!)
- 48,736 main meals (hot & cold) were served using seasonal produce and local meat and cheeses, all from local Welsh producers
- 133,949 cups of tea were poured using our ethically traded tea bags from Taylor’s
- And finally, we sold 11,268 cream teas
