Who we are
We are an easy going, laid-back bunch, and thoroughly enjoy our meets and events. There are around 20 of us in total, and our average turnout is usually six to eight.
What we do
We meet one Sunday a month to help the Property Wardens in their work. We also take ourselves off for weekends to work at other sites. Our recent trip to the Brecon Beacons was a great success and cost us only around £20 each! Not bad for a weekend away.
We carry out a variety of tasks including:
- clearing
- cutting back shrubbery
- painting
- repairing path erosion
- replanting
- wrapping saplings
and you can learn stuff too!
What's in it for you
A jolly good time and the chance to make new friends. We also have a great social side and do many things apart from working. We go camping, walking, day-tripping and just out for supper.
And, if you put in the required hours you'll receive an National Trust membership card for the following year, giving you access to all Trust properties for free.
Where we work
We work at two major NT sites: Avebury in Wiltshire and Prior Park in Bath, but are pleased to have now taken on the newly acquired Tyntesfield site in Somerset too. It's a bit further to travel but being such an amazing place makes the earlier start worthwhile.
