Interested in making the most of the National Trust near you? Join your local group to enjoy special interest talks, visits, holidays and other social and fundraising events.
You'll also be helping a great cause - local groups support the work of the charity and raise hundreds of thousands of pounds every year for our conservation and access projects around the country.
About the group
The South Dorset Association was established in 1994 when the original Dorset Centre was divided into two parts. The area extends from Farnham in the north-east to Evershot in the north-west, with the south-east corner at Ringstead Bay on the coast and West Bexington at the south-westerly corner.
We organise day trips to places of interest such as National Trust properties, other houses and gardens, places of historic importance, as well as occasional longer breaks and holidays.
We hold meetings with illustrated talks on a whole range of subjects in a variety of locations to make it easier for more members to attend. Typical places are: Preston (St Andrew's Church Rooms); Broadmayne Village Hall; Poundbury (Brownsword Hall).
In addition we have a number of social events each year, such as lunches and dinners.
We keep in touch with a twice-yearly Newsletter which contains our programme of events.
