Blackmore Vale & Yeovil Association was founded in1978 and currently has 450 members in the area between Shaftesbury and South Petherton.
Our objectives are to promote the National Trust locally, raise funds in its support, and arrange a programme of events and activities to enrich members’ understanding of its work.
Among the National Trust properties we support are Montacute House, Lytes Cary Manor, Stourhead and Tintinhull House Gardens. For example, we have raised funds to provide wheelchair ramps and cushions for the Long Gallery at Montacute House, the reception kiosk at Lytes Cary Manor and brush cutters and other garden equipment at Tintinhull.
Blackmore Vale & Yeovil Association is independent of the National Trust and governed by a constitution common to all the charity’s centres and associations. Our affairs are conducted by a committee of officers and members who are elected at our annual general meeting held in March each year.
