For one weekend this summer, many of our properties are putting on special walks to show off the best of the countryside that we look after in Wessex.
The weekend will be a celebration of the marvellous outdoor spaces across the region, from the parklands of our great houses to iconic pieces of open access countryside, wildlife havens and places you may never have heard of.

A Breath of Fresh Air
There will be a wide range of easy walking activities, ideal for families or casual walkers, from guided walks with local wardens to way-marked trails, wildlife exploring or the hunt for historical Wessex.
Discover the secret lives of the Corfe Castle smugglers, walk the Bath skyline or investigate the flowering fields around Stonehenge.
On many of these walks, there will be a chance to meet our staff and volunteers and find out more about the area or our countryside management. To give you a flavour, you'll be able to join a leading Trust archaeologist exploring a hill fort or one of our wildlife experts looking at natural history. You can also meet the National Trust countryside volunteer group celebrating their 30th year at Newark Park.

If you prefer to do your own thing...
...why not take advantage of our great Free Downloadable Walk Guides? Each contains a map with detailed directions as well as interesting facts and features to look out for on the way.
