The Birmingham association promotes and supports the work of the National Trust both locally and nationally as follows:
We provide members with a programme of events calendar and keep them up-to-date through newsletters and mailings throughout the year. Additionally, we provide members with current news items through our community website.
On a practical level the Birmingham association distributes leaflets on behalf of the National Trust to hotels, information centres, and libraries. We assist the West Midlands region by providing stewards at local National Trust properties and at the annual 'Barber Institute Lecture Series' held at the University of Birmingham between October and December.
Surplus funds accumulated during the year from normal and fundraising activities are distributed to specific projects. The committee recommends these projects, from a list identified by the National Trust as being in need of funds, for approval at the AGM.
