The National Trust is ‘for ever for everyone’, the 'Whose Story?' project aims to achieve this. It serves the need to open up and engage with new audiences and develop a more diverse base of staff, volunteers, visitors and supporter groups.

The 'Whose Story?' project started in 2005 with funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund. The second phase began in 2007 and will run until 2011. The project focuses on four properties where research will uncover ‘hidden histories’ and diverse stories at the Back to Backs in Birmingham, Wightwick Manor in Wolverhampton, Charlecote Park near Stratford upon Avon and Croome Park in Worcestershire.
Working with colleges, community groups, advisors and property staff 'Whose Story?' will feature historical material, performance, music and art as part of various projects and events.

Over the next four years the results of this engagement will lead to fresh interpretive material, new events and training opportunities which could lead to careers in the National Trust.
